Loco is situated in the heart of the Onsernone Valley in the Lago Maggiore region of Switzerland. With stunning picturesque villages embedded into steep mountain sides, even the journey up the narrow windy roads affords breathtaking views.
The mild climate, being close to the Mediterranean, brings forth an amazing variety of plants despite its altitude of 691 meters above sea level. Looking about in a panoramic sweep, you will encounter palm trees, vineyards, and stands of mimosas. The edible chestnut and fig trees are everywhere.

Bus
From Locarno train station to Loco, the yellow postal bus takes
about 40 minutes. A one-way bus ticket from Locarno is CHF 11.
Taxi
A taxi from the train station will cost approx CHF 90.

Loco is a tranquil village that has a small shop, a cash point machine (Raiffeisen Bank) post office, museum, cafe, restaurant and a beautiful Catholic Church which dates from the 16th century.
